David F. Fox has been practicing for 30 years in the areas of business law, real
estate, zoning and planning, estate planning, civil litigation, personal injury
and criminal law and as a court-appointed arbitrator.
Mr. Fox earned Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from Eastern Michigan
University. He received a Juris Doctor from Detroit College of Law, Michigan State
University, in 1979. He was admitted to practice law in Rhode Island in 1980, at
which time he joined the firm of Robert M. Silva as an associate attorney.
He became a partner in the firm Silva, Meyer and Fox in 1986, before beginning
his own firm in 1988.
Mr. Fox has been general legal counsel to corporations, utility companies,
governmental agencies and boards. He has briefed and argued numerous cases before
the Rhode Island Supreme Court and has drafted numerous pieces of legislation that
were enacted by the Rhode Island Legislature.
David J. Fox is an associate attorney at the Law Offices of David F. Fox. Dave's areas
of practice include real estate transactions, personal injury, criminal law, property
disputes, business formation, and estate planning, among others. Born in Mt. Clemens,
Michigan, Dave has been a long time resident of Newport County.
Dave graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (Criminology Concentration) from
James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Dave then obtained his Juris
Doctor, Cum Laude, from Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island.
Currently sitting as a member of the Supervisory Committee for the People's Credit
Union, Dave is also a member of the Board of Directors for Olivia's Heart Fund
(a non profit foundation which seeks to increase education and funding for research
for Congenital Heart Defects "CHD").
